Our road milling machines are incredible at removing anywhere from very thin to very thick layers right off the top of the roadway. It grinds the pavement as it moves along, slowly breaking it all into small pieces before removal, leaving you with a flat surface to put asphalt on.
Once the pavement has been grinded up, it is sent up a conveyor belt and into a dump truck to be removed or reused. Asphalt can be ground up and recycled to make lower quality asphalt that can be reused to help reduce the carbon footprint of making new asphalt.
Rumble strips are a very necessary tactic for keeping drivers awake, in their own lanes and safely on the roads. We make these by using a special type of milling that cuts out a little bit of the asphalt in small sections repeatedly which creates that loud rumble affect.
